Old family photos are wonderful! Not until the 1860-80s did photography become accessible for families to have one taken.  A picture from that time frame is a family treasure. That means that the earliest generation of people photographed were usually born around 1800.

The ThinkStuff.net linked below article shares 13 photographs of Revolutionary War veterans who lived long enough to have their photos taken.

The Revolutionary War Veterans Who Lived Long Enough To Have Their Pictures Taken

//In 1864, a full 81 years after the war ended, Reverend E. B. Hillard and two photographers went to New England to interview and photograph the six men known to have survived. All of the veterans were over 100 years old.//
